Ancho Reyes® es un licor hecho a partir del extraordinario chile ancho, inspirado en una receta de los años 20´s, originaria de la ciudad de Puebla de Zaragoza.

Ancho Reyes® es un repaso de sabor en las tradiciones, costumbres y cultura de México, al olfato entrega notas a chiles secos, canela, cacao, tamarindo, madera húmeda y almendra, mientras que al probarlo deja un calor aterciopelado, seguido de especies dulces, una acidez sutil de fondo y notas ahumadas.

In 1927, Mexico was experiencing a different kind of Roaring 20’s—a chaotic, post-revolutionary time that celebrated the emergence of a new, personal independencía.
Against this backdrop, artists, intellectuals, and bohemians formed a provocative avant-garde estridentismo movement that spread from cantinas to cabarets. Centered in Puebla’s Barrio del Artista, the group’s gatherings included unique menjurjes—homemade concoctions created from a blend of Puebla’s native ingredients and local spirits.
One menjurje, made by the family Reyes, was the only elixir created from Puebla’s signature crop: the beloved ancho chili. With a subversive balance of spice and warmth, this spirit lent energy to the wild proceedings and inspired bold ideas. Today, our amber bottle of Ancho Reyes contains the undiluted recipe of the family Reyes’ imaginative liquid. Crafted with handselected ancho chilis and a complex undercurrent of spices, Ancho Reyes is the original ancho chili liqueur—a smoky, heated tribute to
the radicals, rogues and romanticos in all of us.
